The Brass Quintet repertoire includes ceremonial music, sacred music, and art music from all eras - Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern. In addition, the quintet plays popular music from all these periods, including Renaissance & Baroque dance music, Classical & Romantic opera overtures, marches and arias, waltzes, patriotic music, ragtime, big-band swing, Broadway Musicals, and music of The Beatles. The Arcadia Brass has even arranged & performed songs by artists as diverse as John Denver and Whitney Houston!
Besides musical versatility, the Arcadia Brass Quintet is very adaptable to different venues and performance situations. We perform on our own, but can also collaborate with vocalists and other instruments. We often perform with church choirs, organists, and vocal soloists. We are ideally suited to concert halls, churches, and outdoor gazebos & gardens. We do not normally require amplification, but in very large venues (such as graduations held in a stadium setting) amplification is easy to add. We can perform seated or standing, and in a variety of physical configurations according to the demands of the performance space and the music. Most importantly, we have the experience and professionalism to know that every performance situation requires care and planning. We have done it all, and we can help you plan your wonderful event.
The instrumentation of the Brass Quintet is two trumpets, french horn, tenor trombone, and either tuba or bass trombone, depending on the music to be performed.
